DECEMBER CHRISTMAS MESSAGE:
Throughout this year, the Men’s Diversity movement has progressed with limited resources, many challenges, and a long-held conviction: no one should be excluded for being who they are.

FESTIRIS (Angola’s LGBTQI+ Festival)
Held annually in June, this is the largest cultural event for the community in Angola. The festival focused on addressing the gap between the new Penal Code and the continued institutional discrimination by police and healthcare workers.
Past Milestones: The Foundation of Our Movement
The Decriminalization Campaign (2013–2021): A decade-long advocacy effort that successfully led to the removal of the “vices against nature” clause from the Angolan Penal Code.
“See Beyond Your Prejudice” (2022): A national awareness campaign launched with the UNDP using photography to challenge social stigma.
Healthcare Sensitization: Historically, we established the first “safe-referral” networks, training public hospital staff to provide dignified care to MSM (men who have sex with men) and trans individuals.
The organizations are currently focused on moving from “legal rights” to “social reality” following the 2021 decriminalization of homosexuality.

HIV/AIDS counseling and testing, and condom distribution.
HIV prevention and testing, referral for antiretroviral therapy.
Target Audience : LGBTQ Community and Key Populations
National HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan (PEN VII 2024–2028): Diversidade Masculina and Íris Angola are key partners in this five-year plan. Future goals include:
PrEP Rollout: Expanding access to Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) specifically for “key populations” like men who have sex with men (MSM).
95-95-95 Targets: Ensuring 95% of the community knows their HIV status, 95% of those diagnosed are on treatment, and 95% on treatment achieve viral suppression.
